Slice in the sky

At work we have always used Python & Django to create websites and applications for our customers. And don't get me wrong, it is still awesome, and suitable for most of our projects. But for a while now I have thought that it was just a little too 'heavy' for some of our smaller projects, and have yearned for something a bit simpler and easier to use for the site administrator.

Well, that is how this site was born. I can't remember how I came across Craft CMS. But It was exactly what I was looking for. Easy to set up, easy to theme. And with their 'Matrix' field the content of each entry is extremely customisable and easy to edit for the site administrator.

So I dug right in, and decided to create me a new website to showcase some of my photos, and talk about random stuff.

It was that easy to set up,  minus the site design and HTML coding, it probably took me around 3-4 hours to get this complete and up and running. Which is an amazing achievement considering it is my first project using Craft, and it's been a long, long time since I even looked at a piece of PHP code. And all this is due to the way Craft has been designed and developed. It's brilliant, and I can't recommend it enough.

I urge you to consider it for your next project, I know I will be!
